POGO in the Park / Park Piece

An outdoor performance series conceived and curated by Emily Kessler that spurred the creation of new work from NYC-based artists in direct response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The series also raised money for the Bail Project, an organization that works to combat mass incarceration and the money bail system.

Curated Artists included Symara Johnson + Kalliope Piersol and Chelsea Enjer Hecht who performed alongside POGO’s Park Piece in their own work.

Performances for this series were on the 24th and 26th of September, 2020 in Fort Greene Park. An archival video of POGO in the Park sits in the collections of the New York Public Library Jerome Robbins Dance Divison and the Ohio State University Music and Dance Library as part of a larger archive of dance work made during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

POGO in the Park and Park Piece was made possible by our Patreon Supporters and a G’FAMA Grant.
